Units
Mission Ministries
PURPOSE
- To keep Olivet's membership focused on fulfilling our Lord's "Great
Commission" to His Church,
- To evangelize and disciple the world through corporate mission work,
- To develop individuals as missionaries and witnesses for Christ.
Scriptural Foundation
Matt. 28:19-20; Matt. 25:37-40; Acts 1:8
Mission Units
- Adult Unit - Mission on the Move (M.O.M.)
- Works very closely with Olivet's adopted housing development,
Getwell Gardens and sponsors various activities for the residents,
mainly the youth. M.O.M. has also adopted the Ronald McDonald House,
providing fellowship and homecooked meals for families of the
children in treatment at St. Jude several times a year.

- Senior Unit
- Generally for ages 45 and above, particularly shows love to High
Pointe and Graceland Nursing Homes, and the Family Link facility for
troubled youth.

- Youth Unit - Sister to Sister (Women and Girls
Minstry)
- Organized just for the females, this newly established ministry
will focus on providing the wholesome attention our girls need as
they develop into Christian women and missionaries. The Mission
Department also coordinates with the Laymen's organization (Young
Brothers of Christ) to get the boys involved in mission work.
Mission Ministries
- Adopted Communities Ministry
- Coordinates activities that foster Olivet's bond with our
"extended family" living in our adopted housing
communities: Getwell Gardens and Orange Mound.

- Helping Hands Fellowship
- Assists sick/shut-in members, sponsors supportive activities for
Olivet members, and coordinates LifeBlood Program and Ministry to
Dant?-Mitchell Quarters.

- The Light of Christ Youth Ministry
- Reaches out to teens and pre-teens in the Orange Mound and Getwell
Gardens communities, seeking to empower them to achieve their
potential in and through Jesus Christ by physical, intellectual, and
spiritual edification.

- Operation Light

Claims and reclaims God's people through evangelism and
discipleship.
The areas of focus include:
Tall Trees Correctional Center for Boys
University of Memphis students
Worship Services at Getwell Gardens and Waverly Place
Annual Canvassing
Prison Ministry.
